  • seen predominantly in adolescents, especially age 13-14 years, although it can be seen at any age
  • 6-Hz positive spikes: predominate in children < 1 year and adults > 40 years
  • 14-Hz positive spikes: predominate or combine with 6-Hz spikes in other age groups
